Léa Seydoux, who starred in No Time to Die, has officially signed on to Denis Villeneuve’s highly awaited action sci-fi sequel Dune: Part Two, according to Deadline. Most recently, the French actress starred in David Cronenberg’s body horror thriller Crimes of the Future.

Lady Margot, like Lady Jessica, is a Bene Gesserit characterised as a long-serving servant of the Sisterhood, and Seydoux is expected to play her. She and her husband, Count Hasimir Fenring, were not included in David Lynch’s 1984 version of Dune, therefore this is her first live-action appearance.

Denis Villeneuve will return to direct Dune: Part Two. Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgrd, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin are among the returning cast members. Emperor Shaddam IV will be played by Christopher Walken, while Princess Irulan and Austin Butler will be played by Florence Pugh and Austin Butler, respectively.

Dune received tremendous appreciation from fans and reviewers alike last year. It also received ten Academy Award nominations earlier this year, with six of them being awarded, including Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects.

Villeneuve will direct from a story he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts, and shooting will begin this summer in Budapest. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Villeneuve, Cale Boyter, Tanya Lapointe, and Patrick McCormick. Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Thomas Tull, Spaihts, Richard P. Rubinstein, and John Harrison serve as executive producers.

Dune had ten Academy Award nominations, including best picture, and won six Oscars for its worldwide box office revenue of $400.6 million.

The Legendary and Warner Bros. picture stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem, and picks up where Part One left off, with Paul Atreides (Chalamet) battling with the Fremen to rescue the desert world of Arrakis from House Harkonnen’s control. Lady Margot Fenring, played by Seydoux, is an ally of Paul’s in his quest to revenge House Atreides in Frank Herbert’s novel.
