The third instalment of Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr., has been in the works for quite some time. Fans have begun to speculate as to whether or not the film will be released. To provide some comfort, director Dexter Fletcher has provided an update on the film’s current status.
Apart from his role as Iron Man, Downey Jr is most recognised for his portrayal as Sherlock Holmes in the films. Two videos have been received thus far, with a third confirmed a long time ago. It hasn’t been released since 2011. Fans’ interest intensifies as more than a decade passes.Sherlock Holmes 3 was supposed to be released in December 2021, but that didn’t happen. Dexter Fletcher, the director, now has more bad news. In an interview with Collider, he said that the Robert Downey Jr starrer may not be released anytime soon. “It was sidetracked by the epidemic,” Dexter explained.
“I believe it will be made. “I believe it must be made,” the director of Sherlock Holmes 3 stated. “Unfortunately, I don’t know what the timing is for it, but I feel it should be… It’s incredible. It’s all about having the right people at the right place at the right moment, in my opinion. “I believe it is,” he added.
“However, I’m aware that there is a big appetite for it, and I’m sure there are others who are as well.” However, I feel it should be since it is fantastic. Dexter said, “I sincerely hope so.” This does not rule out the possibility of a Robert Downey Jr flick. So there’s reason to be optimistic.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Robert Downey Jr. wants to include his friend Johnny Depp into Sherlock Holmes 3 in order to help him resurrect his career. For the uninitiated, Depp, who just won a defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, has lost his career, reputation, and money as a result of her claims.
