The third and final season of Derry Girls has just finished airing on Channel 4 in the UK; however, it won’t be available on Netflix until after that. Netflix has not yet given an official release date, but based on when prior seasons were added, we can make an accurate forecast.
A gang of girls (and James) grow up during the Northern Ireland problems in the comic series created by Lisa McGee, which has gained popularity over the years. In January 2018, more than four years after it initially appeared on our televisions. Late in 2018, Netflix acquired the sole international rights to host the programme under the Netflix Original brand.
For those who don’t know, Derry Girls season 3 is the show’s final season, and while the writers left the door open for the characters to return in the future, this season marks the show’s demise for the foreseeable future. Between April 12 and May 18, 2022, seven episodes of season 3 were broadcast.
Before the end of 2022, Netflix should release Derry Girls Season 3
The series will lastly be available on Netflix UK, though it’s not yet known when that will happen. Season 2 was briefly added on Netflix UK in July 2020, however it was promptly taken off a few days later.
Season 3’s release date will be known with certainty until we have a clear date for season 2, which may not be for several years given the current pattern.
We should see the final season added before the end of 2022 based on the fact that it took 115 days from the finale air date to the Netflix release date for season 2 of Derry Girls.
The show would premiere on Netflix in September 2022 if the delay is exactly that 115 days. Of course, we’re still waiting for formal word on the release date of the fourth season on Netflix worldwide.
