Dwayne Johnson is set to play DC’s anti-hero Black Adam in the upcoming film of the same name. On June 8, the film’s first trailer, starring Dwayne Johnson in the titular character, was released. The actor plays a DC Comics villain in the two-minute trailer. Based on the photographs, teaser clips, and posters that have been released over the last few months, there is little doubt that this film would be brutal.

The trailer for Black Adam presents an odd blend of modern and ancient worlds. Doctor Fate, played by Pierce Brosnan, also makes an appearance. Dwayne Johnson’s character undergoes some sort of transformation at the start of the trailer. He wakes up later and recalls his dreadful existence as a slave. Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam is also seen fighting members of the JSA in the trailer. With this fan-favorite anti-hero, Johnson delivers hard-hitting jabs.

The trailer builds on the previous teaser trailer by allowing us to see Hodge in his full glory as Carter Hall’s alter ego Hawkman, as well as a closer look at how the JSA works as a unit. Johnson’s anti-hero is introduced in the trailer, which goes into his history and subsequent escape from prison. The Black Adam teaser also alluded to a conflict between the JSA and Black Adam, albeit how or why is unclear.

Black Adam, which has been in production for more than a decade, will be released later this year. Johnson was expected to debut as Black Adam in the DC universe in 2019’s Shazam. When the spinoff for his character was greenlit in 2017, his involvement was deleted. The character first appeared in DC comics in the 1940s, as a power-hungry villain who gradually evolved into an anti-hero by the 2000s.

The upcoming movie will have a different tone than any of the previous DC flicks, as evidenced by the trailer. Some of Blck Adam’s abilities, such as super speed and strength, are demonstrated in the trailer while he struggles. Don’t worry, you’ll be blown away when the movie comes out. Another factor that the producers will rely on is The Rock’s innate sense of humour.
