Disney+ reveals the first teaser trailer for it’s live-action movie Pinocchia

The first Pinocchio teaser trailer has arrived, giving fans a first look at Disney’s newest live-action adaption. With Geppetto’s tick-tocking wall of clocks, Hanks’ prayer, and then a bunch of crazy action, the Pinocchio teaser trailer is all mood-setting. A seagull attacks Jiminy Cricket, animals flee, and Cynthia Erivo appears as the Blue Fairy.

The new film will be based on the 1883 Italian novel and 1940 Disney picture about a wooden puppet that comes to life thanks to The Blue Fairy’s powers and is invited to become a real boy by remaining truthful. Pinocchio will meet a variety of problematic characters on his quest to become a genuine boy, and he will discover about his nose’s tendency to grow every time he lies.

While the Pinocchio trailer teaser does not reveal the titular puppet in full, the first glimpses of the live-action Jiminy Cricket and Blue Fairy provide exciting peeks of what the Disney remake has in store. Cynthia Erivo, a two-time Oscar nominee, appears to be giving the classic Blue Fairy figure her own unique spin, particularly with her interpretation of Cliff Edwards“When You Wish Upon A Star.”

As the puppet’s creator Geppetto, Tom Hanks leads the cast of Pinocchio, which also includes Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Pinocchio’s voice, Cynthia Erivo as The Blue Fairy, Luke Evans as The Coachman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the voice of Jiminy Cricket, Keegan-Michael Key, and Lorraine Bracco.

The movie was first announced in 2015, but development stalled for over five years as a succession of writers and directors, including Paddington’s Paul King, came and went before Robert Zemeckis signed on to co-write and direct the film. The film’s production concluded in 2021, and moviegoers are now getting their first look at the live-action Pinocchio flick.

Pinocchio will be released on September 8, 2022, but it won’t be in theatres. Pinocchio is only available on Disney Plus. That’s been a good trend in movies recently, since both Turning Red and the Chip n Dale film were excellent. Pinocchio’s premiere coincides with Disney Plus Day 2022, a major milestone for the streaming service.” The streaming service will feature exceptional experiences for fans and subscribers, as well as premiere new content from its marquee brands,” according to the statement. More “premieres from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic” will be unveiled in the months ahead for Disney Plus Day.
