The new series will be an anthology of original animated shorts with the same name. Following Amy Ratcliffe’s panel, the official Star Wars Twitter account announced that the series will premiere on Disney+ this fall.
Tales of the Jedi was a Dark Horse Comics series that chronicled the Jedi Order’s ancient history and conflict with the Sith. The original was set 4,000 years before the events of the films, thus this series will deviate from that while still exploring the Jedi’s background. Fans are eager to discover more about Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, and Dark Horse comics are a great place to start.
The books were published between 1993 and 1998, for those who are unfamiliar with the series. Tom Veitch, a key figure in the Star Wars Expanded Universe, was in charge of Tales of the Jedi and its prequel era. The Sith are at war with the organisation. It then follows a number of story lines concerning the Jedi religion, the Old Republic, and even the formation of the Sith.
