Today, May 27th, Netflix released the official trailer for the new anime Spriggan, but what is the series about, who is creating it, and, most importantly, when will it be released worldwide?

WHAT IS THE SPRIGGAN ANIMATION SERIES?

The planned Spriggan anime series is based on Hiroshi Takashige’s manga, which was serialised in Japan from 1991 to 1996.
In Spriggan, an ancient civilization once ruled over Earth with knowledge and technology much exceeding that of today’s world, making their relics extraordinarily powerful but also exceedingly well hidden.

However, one organisation called ARCAM is attempting to keep those artefacts concealed from these military superpowers…their special forces agents are known as Strikers or, more colloquially, Spriggans.

CONFIRMED SPRIGGAN RELEASE DATE AND EPISODE COUNT

The Spriggan anime series, as indicated by the recent trailer, will be available worldwide on Netflix on Saturday, June 18th.
Spriggan season 1 will premiere all six episodes on June 18th, though we don’t know how long each episode will be — our best guess is around the 25-minute mark, as with many of their other original anime titles.
Spriggan will premiere around the world at the following times, in accordance with the regular release of new content, aside from the weekly simulcast K-dramas:
