According to Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are planning their wedding and have their sights set on a warm location outside of Los Angeles. According to a source, “Ben and Jen want to get married soon. They are talking about having a destination or tropical wedding. They can’t wait to spend the rest of their lives together forever, happily in love and excited to unify their families even further.”
Lopez and Affleck met on the set of their film Gigli in 2002 and immediately fell in love. The bride-to-be is now’stressing out’ about his laid-back demeanour. Last month, Affleck proposed to Lopez for the second time when he presented her with a massive green diamond ring, which she proudly showed on her Instagram page. J-Lo, who called off her two-year engagement to Alex Rodriguez in April of last year, is rumoured to be working on plans for a small wedding in Los Angeles.
Lopez has been tight-lipped about her wedding plans. A source told Page Six in April that the pair will most likely keep the details of their wedding ceremony private. “After the last time [they got engaged], there won’t be any announcements of when and where they are getting married. They will just do it and then announce,” the source said. To put things in perspective, when Lopez and Affleck were first engaged and planning to marry in September 2003, they called off the wedding due to the media attention. In January 2004, they called it quits.
While Lopez reportedly hopes to have a big wedding, at the end of the day, what’s most important to Lopez isn’t necessarily some grand ceremony, but rather that they get the formalities out of the way so they can start their journey as man and wife sooner rather than later. One of the insider said, “She definitely wants a spectacular celebration at some point and money won’t be an object! They’re both committed to making this work and taking all the steps necessary to respect each other’s boundaries and learn from their mistakes the last time around.”
Lopez also told People earlier this year that Affleck has finally given her the affection and sense of family she’s been yearning for her entire life. “It’s just that we’re all in a very beautiful moment,” she said. “I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him. It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.” She added, “We’re older, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. We’re so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us. I just feel very happy and lucky to be in a relationship that’s happy and loving, and I want to do everything I can to protect that and keep it safe. It deserves that, it really does…We hold it sacred.”
