Netflix published the official trailer for The Gray Man on Twitter on Tuesday. A face-off between stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans is seen in the approximately two-minute-long clip. Dhanush, who is making his Hollywood debut with The Grey Man, is seen in a fashionable ensemble. He also appears in a battle sequence.

Given the star power in front of and behind the camera, the next action film is one of the most widely awaited on Netflix’s slate, with a record-setting production budget of $200 million, much of which probably went to maintaining Chris Evans’ perfect moustache.
“The Gray Man,” directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who also directed “Avengers: Endgame” and other Marvel flicks, pits Evans against Ryan Gosling in a high-octane game of cat and mouse that hits theatres on July 15 and then hits Netflix a week later.

Court Gentry, a top black-ops CIA operative who goes on the run after finding embarrassing agency secrets, is played by Ryan Gosling. Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a fellow mercenary, is charged with leading the global manhunt to find him while amassing a large dead count.
“If you want to build an omelette, you have to kill some people,” Evans says in the clip, evidently enjoying playing against the Captain America type.

“It’s difficult to find someone on Chris Evans’ calibre to step into a villain,” Joe Russo said of casting the Marvel actor. “That’s why you don’t usually see a Ryan Gosling vs. Chris Evans film.” However, he’s reached the stage where [playing the villain] is more interesting to him than playing a hero, so we’re able to get two mega-stars to compete. It’s a fight to the death between two highly complicated people with opposing objectives.”

Court Gentry (Ryan), alias Sierra Six, is CIA operative The Gray Man. Court was previously a highly trained, agency-sanctioned merchant of death, plucked from a federal penitentiary and recruited by his handler, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton).
But now the tables have turned, and Six is on the run, pursued by Lloyd Hansen (Chris), a former CIA colleague who would stop at nothing to eliminate him. Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) is on his side.

Producers include Joe Roth, Jeffery Kirschenbaum, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Mike Larocca, and Chris Castaldi. Executive producers are Patrick Newall, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Jake Aust, Angela Russo-Otstot, Geoff Haley, Zack Roth, and Palak Patel. On July 15, 2022, the film will have a limited theatre release, followed by a Netflix release on July 22, 2022.
