The quarter-mile-by-quarter-mile franchise is nearing the end of its run. While the Fast & Furious universe will live on with spinoffs like Hobbs & Shaw 2 and Charlize Theron’s Cipher getting her own film, the core narrative starring Dominic Toretto and his crew is coming to an end with two final films. The first of these was previously known simply as Fast & Furious 10, but is now known as Fast X. The film’s release date has been set for May 19, 2023, and Louis Leterrier has taken over as director following Justin Lin’s departure a week after filming began.
While it’s logical to presume that Fast X will have its leading characters employing cars and other vehicles to stop a significant threat, if not save the planet, plot details are being kept under wraps for the time being. What we can talk about with this upcoming film is the core cast, which includes both familiar stars like Vin Diesel and newcomers like Jason Momoa. Let’s take a look at who we’ll see during the events of Fast X.
Diesel, who plays Dom Toretto, shared this photo on Instagram (May 20) with the caption: “There are some people you will meet in your life who will change you, your family, and the world FOREVER! #FastX.”
At this far, Oscar winner Larson’s character is being kept under wraps, but based on what we can see, she could be portraying someone close to Dom.
Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, has appeared in every Fast & Furious film except 2 Fast 2 Furious, and for a long period shared co-leading roles with Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor. Unfortunately, Walker died in 2013, making Furious 7 Brian’s final appearance and Dom the major character in the franchise.
Alan Ritchson, who appeared in a handful of Smallville episodes as Aquaman and in the first three seasons of HBO Max’s Titans as Hank Hall/Hawk, is another DC actor who’ll be joining the Fast X ride. Many of you may recognise Ritchson from the hit Amazon Prime Video series Reacher, where he played the latest incarnation of Jack Reacher. In any case, Fast X adds another action-related credit to Ritchson’s resume.
Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Charlize Theron, Jordana Brewster, Michael Rooker, Cardi B,
Jason Momoa, Daniela Melchior, Brie Larson, Michelle Rodriguez
Kurt Russell’s Mr. Nobody was joined by a government agent nicknamed Little Nobody in The Fate of the Furious. Scott Eastwood played this agent, and after missing the events of Fast & Furious 9, he returns for Fast X. What’s intriguing about Little Nobody’s reappearance is that we still don’t know what happened to Mr. Nobody in the current Fast & Furious storyline. He was on the plane carrying Cipher, but he wasn’t there when Dom and his team went to inspect the plane’s crash site. Is he dead or just gone missing? Little Nobody’s return, I believe, will shed some light on the riddle, if not totally illuminate it.
