The upcoming DC film Black Adam, which is set to hit theatres on October 21, 2022, is supposed to introduce an unique character into the DC Films universe. Dwayne Johnson, who is also executive producing the film, is at the centre of the project. With the project’s reshoots presently ongoing, Johnson came to Instagram to give fans an update, teasing that the work the actors and crew are doing is “redefining the superhero paradigm.” A new black-and-white behind-the-scenes shot of Johnson in the Black Adam outfit was attached to Johnson’s statement.
The Rock wrote in the caption of the photo that he had a “Intense week of shooting BLACK ADAM.” The star promised his adoring followers that the film would be special. “The people no longer need a hero,” Dwayne said, and thus this antihero was on his way to reroute the superhero cosmos. Continuing, he said, “They need a protector. Rage against the dying of the light.” Additionally, Dwanye waged a war as he penned, “The hierarchy in the DC Universe will change.”
Meanwhile, a black and white photo of Dwayne in his Black Adam attire with a harness behind him was accompanied to this compelling message. For those who are unfamiliar with the film, it is a spin-off of the popular superhero flick Shazam. In addition to Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fatte, and Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, Black Adam is directed by Jaume Collett-Serra of Jungle Cruise. In currently unknown roles, Uli Latukefu, Marwan Kenzari, Mohammed Amer, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui have been cast.
Johnson previously stated that he has spent his entire life training to play Black Adam, saying, “I started training for Black Adam when I came out of the womb. I believe I was born to play this character. But in all honesty, this project has been with me for 10 ten years now. The process began when we started to stand the material up and really developed it into what it is present day. Once the start date was agreed on by our Seven Bucks production company, the rest of my team, Warner Bros. Studio, and DC Comics, I started to build an exhaustive training program with my coach Dave Rienzi. I wanted to come into this in the best shape of my career.”Black Adam also stars Aldis Hodge
