Thor: Love And Thunder release date is just around the corner. With the release date approaching, Marvel just released a new promotional still for the film. The film, directed by Taika Waititi, will take viewers on a voyage of self-discovery with Thor, the strongest Avenger.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be directed by Taika Waititi again. However, the acclaimed filmmaker and writer has clarified what to expect from the fourth solo Thor picture in terms of love. Waititi stated to Empire that the film isn’t just about romantic love between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). He said: “I want to make a film about love, with superheroes and outer space. Those are the things I want. And that’s pretty much what it is.”
Waititi then added, “I’ve shied away from this idea of romance (before). I love Wuthering Heights and how big that love story is, and how over-the-top and operatic it is. They’re f**king declaring, I am Heathcliff and Heathcliff is me. We’re nowhere near as big as that, but it’s about love and about people who want love and what love means to people.”
Fans may be disappointed if they expect a dramatic romantic reunion between Thor and Jane, according to him. “I think most people will assume that the love story is between Chris and Natalie. I can’t promise that what people think is going to happen in this film will happen.”
Portman’s return to the franchise as not only Jane, but also Mighty Thor, with her own kickass superhero gear and powerful armaments, is teased in the new teaser and stills from the film. Waititi will reprise his role as Korg in the film, which also stars Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
