Love, Death + Robots is gearing up for its big Netflix return with Volume 3 in just a few days, and Netflix is celebrating by releasing the first episode of the new season early and for free! The first volume of the now Emmy-winning animated anthology was a huge success with fans due to how distinct each of the available shorts were from one another, and the second wave of shorts had continued this trend with even more surprises. That is why fans are looking forward to the third collection of short films, which will hopefully push the craziness even farther.

Netflix has released the first instalment of Love, Death + Robots Volume 3, and it already teases what viewers might expect. This is the first instalment in the anthology series’ overall sequel series. Three Robots: Exit Strategies is the first short film in the Volume 1 collection, which followed the titular robots as they explored a post-apocalyptic planet. This first offering was released on Netflix’s official YouTube channel. See Blow:

Three Robots: Exit Strategies is a sequel to the first volume’s Three Robots short story. Netflix promotes the first Love, Death + Robots: Volume 3 short as “directed by Patrick Osborne, written by John Scalzi, and produced at Blow Studio.” “From famed sci-fi novelist John Scalzi comes the first direct sequel to Love, Death + Robots. Before humanity was blotted out, the titular trio of droll droids returns for a quick tour of post-apocalyptic human survival tactics.”

Love, Death, and Robots: Volume 3 will be available on Netflix on May 20th, and this is just one of the new shorts! Among the nine selections in the new collection are the return of some notable creators, an animated directing debut by David Fincher, and more. As such, Netflix has publicly teased the upcoming volume “Tim Miller (Deadpool, Terminator: Dark Fate) and David Fincher executive produce the third volume of the Emmy-winning animated anthology Love, Death + Robots (MINDHUNTER, Mank). Terror, inventiveness, and beauty collide in nine new episodes ranging from an ancient evil to a humorous apocalypse, telling astonishing short stories of fantasy, horror, and science-fiction with distinctive wit and visual invention.”
