Whether or not you like it when major TV shows break their final season into two parts, forcing viewers to wait many months for the show’s conclusion, the trend appears to be here to stay.
It occurred with Money Heist and Ozark, and it will happen again when Season 11 Part 2 airs this August, and Better Call Saul is poised to go on hiatus.
Following a two-year wait for the final season due to pandemic-related delays and the show’s star, Bob Odenkirk, suffering a heart attack while filming, Netflix has decided to further delay viewers’ happiness. And, as if a final season split wasn’t bad enough, UK viewers had to wait an extra day to watch each episode because they are published 24 hours earlier in the US.
What happened in Part 1 of Season 6?
Jimmy and Kim have so far plotted Howard’s demise by hiding drugs in his locker, taking his car, and accusing him of prostitution. Howard realised Jimmy was messing with him in the fourth episode of the series and began plotting his own; we’ll have to wait and see if this pays off.
Nacho went on the run after his hit on Lalo in season five failed, and he was eventually slain in the series’ third episode. Why does it feel like Lalo is just getting started on his bloody revenge mission, shooting people traffickers, breaking and entering, and hobbling one of Gus’s guys in season four?
What happens in Season 6 Part 2?
The episode titles for the season finale have not been disclosed, and storyline specifics have been kept under wraps, but there are some elements we can be quite certain about. It’s not a huge leap of faith to predict that the season six part one finale will end on a dramatic cliffhanger of some kind, either related to Kim and Jimmy’s plan to take down Howard, Lalo’s vengeance, or both.
Part two will have to clean up the damage left by Part One and bring Better Call Saul up to date with Breaking Bad. Things don’t seem good for Lalo because he doesn’t appear in Breaking Bad while Gus does. Kim is another another character who does not appear or is even mentioned in Vince Gilligan’s previous series, and her fate is similarly unclear.
We haven’t seen Gene Takovic in the black and white scenes that began the first five seasons of the show as of season six episode six.
One of the big storyline lines in the last episodes will be how Jimmy becomes Gene, if Kim is with him at this point in his life, and if Jimmy’s tale is over.
When will Better Call Saul Season 6 Part 2 be released?
The second half of Season 6 will premiere in the United Kingdom on July 12, seven weeks after the mid-season finale. The final segment will consist of six episodes, making season six a total of 13 episodes, although the first five seasons were just ten.
The first two episodes of season six were released at the same time, but this will not be repeated; each episode of season six part two will be released weekly, with the conclusion arriving on Netflix in the UK on August 15.
