Camila Cabello has confirmed that she will be joining NBC’s ‘The Voice’ as a coach for the upcoming 22nd season. According to Variety, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter announced the news via a TikTok video in which she conducts and sings amid footage of Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Blake Shelton, who all served as coaches on ‘The Voice’ alongside host Carson Daly. Cabello’s involvement was also confirmed by NBC Universal, who captioned the post, “See you this fall.”

Cabello previously featured on the show’s 21st season, which aired from September to December last year, as a part-time counsellor. She will be joining the show as a full-time coach for the first time. Cabello takes over as a replacement for coach Kelly Clarkson, who has been a part of the show for the past eight seasons. Legend said in an interview,” Camila has all the experience she needs to be the perfect advisor for our team. She has navigated a singing competition before and done very well on it.”

Since joining the series as a coach in Season 16 in the spring of 2019, Legend has kept his position as a full-time coach. Meanwhile, Shelton has been a full-time coach on the show since its debut in 2011, spanning all 21 seasons. Ariana Grande took over as a judge on “The Voice” last season, replacing Nick Jonas. Cabello was recently honoured at Variety’s Power of Women event alongside Drew Barrymore, Kim Cattrall, Queen Latifah, and Amanda Seyfried for her work with the Movement Voter Fund to launch the Healing Justice Project.

MGM Television and Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, in collaboration with Warner Horizon, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc., create The Voice. Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, and Kyra Thompson join John de Mol, the series’ creator, as executive producers.
