NBC is sticking to a fairly consistent on-air schedule for the 2022-23 season, while simultaneously emphasising its programming’s cross-platform accessibility.
The Voice, La Brea, and New Amsterdam on Tuesdays are all the same as last autumn, while the long-running Chicago dramas from mega-producer Dick Wolf are all but fixed in stone on Wednesdays. Thursdays will continue to feature an all-Law & Order lineup, which began in February with the reintroduction of the original series.
The addition of a one-hour comedy block on Friday nights is the most significant alteration. NBC will premiere new multicamera comedy Lopez vs. Lopez and season three of Young Rock on Fridays in November, after having no autumn comedies for at least 50 years. In the early fall, the second season of game show College Bowl will air on Fridays at 8 p.m. Friday comedies were last seen on NBC in the 2015-16 season.
All network programming will be available on NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service, with Sunday Night Football being broadcast live.”We’re revisiting historic launch scheduling to give our shows the best chance for success,” Frances Berwick, chairperson entertainment networks at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, stated. “Our NBC programming will genuinely be accessible to consumers in any way that they wish to watch, because to the massive reach that our affiliate partner stations give, combined with exclusive next-day availability on Peacock.”

Following The Voice, which will include Camila Cabello in one of the judges’ seats for the first time, the latter will air at 10 p.m. Mondays. She joins Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Blake Shelton, who are all returning for the first time since season 19. Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande are replaced by Camila Cabello and Gwen Stefani.
Season 10 of The Blacklist, as well as second-year comedies American Auto and Grand Crew, are all set to premiere later this season, as is a relaunch of NBC’s 1980s comedy Night Court and unscripted series Million Dollar Island. Several drama pilots on the network are still in the running for series pickups.
