Bridgerton Season 3 recasts Hannah Dodd as Francesca Bridgerton replacing Ruby Stokes

Hannah Dodd Ruby Stokes as Francesca

In the upcoming Season 3 of Netflix’s hit love comedy Bridgerton, actor Hannah Dodd will play the role of Francesca Bridgerton replacing Ruby Stokes. Stokes is leaving the role, in which she only appeared a few times in the first two seasons, as she has casted in another Netflix series, “Lockwood & Co”, a television version of Jonathan Stroud’s novel series of the same name. The recasting suggests that Francesca Bridgerton, who plays Dodd, will get greater screen time in the upcoming seasons. Dodd, who recently played a younger version of Sienna Miller’s character in Anatomy of a Scandal, takes over the part of the second youngest Bridgerton daughter, behind Daphne and Eloise, and older than the family’s newborn, Hyacinth.

Francesca is the third daughter and third youngest Bridgerton sibling. She only featured in two episodes of Season 1, when she was in London learning to play the piano with the kids’ Aunt Winnie. She had a bit more screen time in Season 2 and appeared in three episodes. Given the focus on her older siblings, the character’s enigmatic personality made appropriate. However, as the story progresses through Julia Quinn’s novels, the moment has come for Francesca to take centre stage, which will be tough due to Stokes’ schedule. With a new star about to take Francesca’s place, the sibling could play a bigger role in the highly anticipated third season.
