Elizabeth Olsen, who previously disclosed that her original contract only covered two movies and a cameo, has since had her contract extended every time Marvel had a new tale for Wanda to participate in. Olsen discussed her Marvel contract in a recent interview, now that she has completed her sixth appearance. Elizabeth Olsen addressed reports that her Marvel contract might be extended beyond her most recent appearance during a press junket for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Olsen stated her contract is constantly altering and she signs “extensions every time they want to do a movie.” She said, “I sign extensions every time they want me to do a movie. I just signed a very short one at the beginning, so everything’s constantly just, it’s always adjusting for me. No. I don’t think of this either as the end.” She also provide update on where her character will go in the movie and whether or not she will return in the MCU movies, “I don’t know in what capacity I’ll be back. I don’t know how to do it without, I don’t want spoilers.“I have no idea. I don’t know what I want. I know I want it to matter. There’s no reason to continue to tell these stories unless they’re really strong, good stories, and that they’re adding something to the entirety of the MCU. I will be there if there’s a great idea”, she added.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ended with a cliffhanger about the Scarlet Witch’s destiny. Marvel Studios could simply extend Olsen’s contract in order to bring her wildly popular character back to the MCU, but because the actress has yet to sign a multi-project deal, appearance as Wanda is unlikely. Still, it’s evident that Olsen is ready to return to her role as Wanda, and her character could appear in a variety of locations in the future. The actress has shown interest in reuniting Wanda with Paul Bettany’s White Vision on screen, owing to his character’s unresolved path following the events of WandaVision.
Wanda Maximoff has undoubtedly become one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, owing in large part to Elizabeth Olsen’s outstanding performance. The actress initially appeared on screen as the Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but she has since worked on five more films with Marvel, including the most recent blockbuster Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
