Grey’s Anatomy, the longest-running ABC show of all time, is in its eighteenth season and will conclude on May 26th, 2022. Following that, the show is scheduled to debut on Netflix. Grey’s Anatomy’s new season, which premieres on September 30th, 2021, will consist of 20 episodes and will run until the end of May.
This season also marks the departure of several series regulars, including Jesse Williams, Giacomo Gianniotti, and Greg Germann. But it’s not all bad news: Kate Walsh made a cameo appearance in season 18.
When will Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 be available on Netflix in the United States?
The good news is that the Grey’s Anatomy Netflix release schedule has remained fairly consistent over time. As a result, we can fairly accurately predict when Season 18 will be available on Netflix.
For the past few years, every season has arrived in May (in the case of season 16), June, or, at the very latest, July (as was the case with season 17).
Season 17 premiered exactly one month after the previous season ended. We expect the show to be available in the United States between June and July 2022, assuming it sticks to its regular network schedule.
Season 18 of Grey’s Anatomy was supposed to arrive on Netflix in Latin America, Canada, and some Asian regions around the same time as it did in the United States in 2022.
However, it appears that this is no longer the case, as we’ve been informed that the series is leaving Netflix internationally. As previously reported, on January 1st, 2022, a number of major Disney shows (mostly under the 20th Television banner) will leave Netflix internationally. Every season of Grey’s Anatomy will be ending on January 1st.
If you live outside of these areas, it’s unlikely that Netflix will continue to air the show. Instead, Disney has decided to include the series in its Disney+ Star offering.
Will Grey’s Anatomy depart from Netflix?
Despite numerous reports, Grey’s Anatomy does not appear to be leaving Netflix anytime soon. Disney (ABC’s parent company) has largely pulled its content from Netflix, but it appears that the legacy deal struck for Grey’s Anatomy will keep it streaming for the foreseeable future.
It’s also worth noting that Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Private Practice left Netflix US after two years in December 2021.
