In the ongoing defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, Heard took the stand and she discussed about her relationship, narrating how it grew as both first met during the filming of their film “The Rum Diary”. The actress stated that she was “nervous” and “intimidated”.
Amber told the court about the shooting one of The Rum Diary’s romantic scenes together, adding that it “didn’t feel like a normal scene. It felt real”. The “And Soon The Darkness” star reminisced an incident which occurred in Johnny Depp’s trailer and shared, “He kind of picked up the back of my robe with his boot and I kind of turned around and giggled…..He kind of playfully pushed me down on this bed, sofa. Playful and flirtatious. And he said, ‘Yum’. And kind of lifted his eyebrows up like that.”
Amber Heard also opened up about another incident, this time from the press tour of The Rum Diary. Heard stated she and Johnny Depp sat on the couch, drank red wine, had a conversation, later Depp kissed her and she kissed him back. Explaining about her relationship at the time, Amber detailed, “We fell in love. We were travelling around talking about this movie that we participated in together. We spent the night together in my hotel room and for the rest of the press tour.”
After meeting and getting along well, the “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Never Back Down” actress got married in 2015 and later divorced in 2017. Johnny Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against her, alleging that the piece she wrote in 2018 for the Washington Post in which she described herself a domestic violence victim destroyed his career and damaged reputation.
