James Corden recently issued a statement announcing his departure from The Late Late Show. After his contract expires before the summers of 2023, the show’s host indicated that he has opted to leave the show. Following Corden’s announcement that he would be departing the Late Late Show, Tom Cruise paid a visit to his show and mocked the talk show host’s decision to leave the late-night scene. With Corden, the actor made his first live talk show appearance in a long time, joking around with the presenter while entertaining viewers with his light-hearted comedy.

At the start of Tuesday’s programme, Corden did his usual short check-in at the green rooms for the night’s guests, which featured Cruise and his Top Gun: Maverick co-star Monica Barbaro. Cruise said, “James! It’s such a privilege to be here, and I’m sorry about the news.” He continued, “I’m sorry you got fired. But I just wanted you to know that I’m here for you,” Cruise contined, before Corden could interrupt him. “I’m here for you tonight, and for whatever you need… I would not have fired you. Well, I would love it if you could lend me some money,” Corden added. At last he said, “I told you, anything, James, anything,”

James Corden confirmed in a recent interview with Deadline that he is leaving the talk show The Late Late Show after presenting it for more than seven years. According to the television host, “It’s been it’s a really hard decision to leave because I’m so immensely proud of the show. I’m thrilled to be extending. I always thought I’d do it for five years and then leave, and then I stayed on. I’ve really been thinking about it for a long time, thinking whether there might be one more adventure,” he added.
