Second season of Yellowjackets is confirmed and its creators are opening up about what viewers can anticipate. Yellowjackets’ creators Bart Nickerson and Ashley Lyle told Variety during an interview that they are labelling the new season “The Winter of Their Discontent”. The title is a reference to a 1961 novel of the same name written by John Steinbeck and also a quote from Shakespeare’s “Richard 3rd”.
Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson said that shooting of new season will start in summer and they look forward to revisiting the winter which the Yellowjackets soccer team endured after being stranded on an isolated region in Canada in first season. The showrunners shared that they are in the writing stage of the new season and are exploring unique methods to depict the cruel winters Yellowjackets’s characters will deal with. Lyle shared, “We’re starting those production conversations and we have some really amazing and creative people on our team. So this will be movie magic at play.”
In season 1, the mystery regarding the Antler Queen was solved following the character of Lottie, played by Courtney Eaton, being uncovered as the one who was behind the abduction, slaughter and flesh-eating of one of the survivors.
