Fast X director Justin Lin quit the project, Is Vin diesel to blame for it?

Justin Lin Directing Fast Five

Fast X director Justin Lin is said to have had a clash with Vin Diesel only days after delivering the startling news of his departure from the franchise.

Fast X, the tenth edition of the iconic action franchise Fast and Furious, suffered a setback in late April when director Justin Lin chose to stand down. The renowned director had directed five films in the franchise. Following the commencement of the film’s production, which sparked excitement among fans, the filmmakers proceeded to publish information and advancements about the anticipated actioner. Many people were surprised to learn that Justin Lin was stepping down from his post, as the director is recognised for having a great chemistry with the actors.

”With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of Fast X,” Justin Lin confirmed his retirement from the project with a message released by Fast and Furious’ official social media handle on April 27, 2022.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Lin’s exit from Fast X was caused by a “serious dispute” with main actor Vin Diesel, who has been a part of the franchise since the first film in 2001. To Lin’s dismay, the heated debate occurred during a conference organised to address the shifting situations of the filming.

According to the source, actor Vin Diesel, who is said to be heavily involved in the franchise’s development, has presented new notes for the film. Lin ‘slammed the door’ on the conference, declaring, ‘This movie is not worth my mental health.’

It’s also worth noting that neither Justin Lin nor Vin Diesel have replied to the news. A Universal representative, on the other hand, told The Hollywood Reporter, ”Any creative differences leading to Justin Lin’s exit were with the studio, not with fellow producers, cast or crew.”
