As predicted, the Met Gala 2022 was a lavish affair attended by the crème de la crème of the entertainment and music industries. The Hadid sisters, Gigi and Bella Hadid, were among the celebs that attended this year’s event. As they strolled the red carpet, the pair made sure to turn heads. Gigi Hadid wore a red leather corset and skin-tight leggings with red knee-high boots to the event and looked fantastic. With a big crimson jacket, the model added even more drama to her look. Gigi has now walked the red carpet at the Met Gala for the eighth time. For her special occasion, the model wore a gorgeous red gown.
Gigi stunned everyone by wearing edgy, deep red patent latex trousers with pointed toe boots and a matching corset instead of the Met Gala’s typical formal outfit. She completed the look with Atelier Versace’s big floor-length bubble puffer coat with giant sleeves, a ruby choker, and wine-colored lipstick. Her brilliant blonde hair was slicked back into an architectural updo as well.
Her ensemble was “a modern version of late 1800s coats… The corset and the overexaggerated volume of the jacket face each other in a decadent exhibition of contrast inspired by the volume and dramatic change in womenswear shapes of the late 1800s,” according to the label.
Bella, on the other hand, went for a similar look. The actress wore a Burberry ensemble that included a plunging black leather bodysuit with side chains, tulle sleeve gloves, sexy stockings, and a floor-length lace train. She even wore a vintage Briony Raymond pearl multistrand necklace around her ankle as a homage to the theme’s retro splendour. “It’s a little bit of me, a little bit of him,” Hadid said of the style she created with Riccardo Tisci for Vogue.
