Trevor Noah pokes fun at Will Smith at White House Correspondents dinner

Trevor Noah hosted the recently conducted White House Correspondents Dinner 2022, which was attended by US President Joe Biden and others. The Daily Show host, ever smart, continued to impress everyone with his humour, poking jabs at a few politicians and even a few audience members. Noah took the stage and mocked the historic Oscar controversy. The Oscar controversy is not unknown to anyone, Will Smith smacked Chris Rock across the face during the 94th Academy Awards because the actor’s improper joke about wife Jada Pinkett Smith did not sit well with him. Will Smith has been barred from attending the Academy Awards for a period of ten years. Smith won his first Best Actor Oscar for King Richard not long after slapping Rock on the stage.

Trevor used the opportunity to make a joke about the Will Smith-Chris Rock incident at the Oscars earlier this year, as he was performing comedy in a room full of powerful people and celebrities. “It is risky making jokes these days. I mean, we all saw what happened at the Oscars,” he said. He added, “I’ve actually been a little worried about tonight. What if I make a really mean joke about Kellyanne Conway, and then her husband rushes up on the stage and thanks me?” He also made fun of the US military’s tough withdrawal from Afghanistan last year. He said, “Please be careful leaving tonight, we all know this administration doesn’t handle evacuations well.”

For the uninitiated, Trevor was previously in the news for his feud with Kanye West over his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s current boyfriend Pete Davidson’s Instagram callout session. When Noah came out against the rapper, he chose to respond on social media by addressing him with a racist term. Things took a turn for the worst when Insta suspended Ye’s account due to his recent behaviour.
