Virgin River, Netflix’s most anticipated romance drama, was renewed for a fourth season in September 2021. The show was also picked up for a fifth season. Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse who travels to a tiny town called Virgin River to start a new life, and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson), the proprietor of the town’s local restaurant and a former US Marine, star in the series, which is based on Robyn Carr’s novel series of the same name.
Netflix has promised that the show will return for a fourth and fifth season to keep us entertained. Seasons four and five of Virgin River were planned to be shot concurrently, however, production was halted after season four was completed. The fourth season is expected to premiere in July or August of this year. According to reports, the production was supposed to film Season 5 in March of this year, but things didn’t go as planned, and the season 5 filming was postponed. Alexandra Breckenridge said, “Season five, we were supposed to start in March, But we’ve been pushed so, I don’t know. I don’t know man. I’m hoping that maybe we’ll start in the summer. It would be nice to film in Vancouver in the summer rather than the winter.” So it appears that the actress will be filming in Vancouver this summer. The filming delay appears to have been roughly three months, but it could have been much longer. Breckenridge in an interview also revealed that she has been called for “This Is Us”, she said, “They’ve been trying to get me to come back (This Is Us) since I’ve been on Virgin River.”
Breckenridge also revealed what we can expect from season 4. She said, “Obviously we’re going to watch Mel and Jack navigate the baby that we don’t know who the father is. So that should be enjoyable. And they never actually get engaged at the end of season three. So we’ll see if they end up getting engaged in season four or not.”
