James Cameron's Avatar Has A Sequel After More Than 12 Years

The title of the sequel of James Cameron-directed Avatar was announced at the CinemaCon event, the trailer of “Avatar: The Way of Water” preimered at CinemaCon as well. The trailer, which is in 3D, showed different areas of the Pandora, in the film Pandora is an Earth-like extra solar region of gas giant Polyphemus and is habitable. Pandora aslo featured in the original 2009 Avatar.

In the trailer, Na’vi are seen getting along with aquatic species including whales, James Cameron told, “With the first Avatar, we set out to push the limits of the big screen. With the new Avatar films, we’re pushing those limits even farther, with 3D, with high dynamic range, with high frame rate, higher resolution, and a much greater reality in our visual effects.” First installment in Avatar franchise was a commercial success as well as recieved critical acclaim.

One of the highest-grossing movies depicted rather than aliens invading earth it is the humans who are invading Pandora, a region habituated by Na’vi which are environment-loving and peaceful creatures with their bodies coloured blue and adorable catlike eyes. The humans invade Pandora so that they can mine the land which is rich in a very important mineral called Unobtanium. The cast included Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez , Sam Worthington and Stephen Lang, all of whom will reprise their roles in the sequel.

Avatar: The Way of Water is scheduled to hit the theatres in 16th December this year. Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel, Oona Chaplin, Michelle Yeoh, CJ Jones etc are joining the cast of Avatar franchise.
