Two films “Barbie”, directed by Greta Gerwig and “Oppenheimer”, directed by Christopher Nolan, may take on each other at the box office since Barbie’s release date is 21st July next year. At CinemaCon 2022, Warner Bros revealed the first look of Barbie starring Margot Robbie of “The Wolf of Wall Street” fame and also announced the release date of the movie, it is July 21, 2023.

Oppenheimer’s date of release is also the same, it is big-budget multi star-cast film. Starring Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Rami Malek, Robert Downey Jr and Florence Pugh. Similarly, Barbie too has major actors including Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, Simu Liu and America Ferrera. Warner Bros released the first look of Barbie which shows “The Suicide Squad” star in a pink convertible wearing a hair band behind the wheel giving a wide smile.

Barbie’s director Greta Gerwig also served as the writer along with Noah Baumbach. Margot Robbie opened up about the movie in 2021 during an interview, telling, “Barbie comes with a lot of baggage and a lot of nostalgic connections. But with that comes a lot of exciting ways to attack it. People generally hear Barbie and think, ‘I know what that movie is going to be,’ and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, and they’re like, ‘Oh, well, maybe I don’t’ “.

As far as Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is concerned it is based on Robert Oppenheimer, who was an American theoretical physicist and a professor of physics at the University of California, Berkeley. The film is adapted from the biography of the physicist titled “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer” and stars Cillian Murphy, best known for Batman Begins and Peaky Blinders, as the titular character.
