Grammy-Winner Bad Bunny Will Star in Marvel-Sony's El Muerto

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio is confirmed to play the role of Sony-Marvel’s superhero El Muerto which is based on Spider Man, the film is going to release in January, 2024, as per creators. Bad Bunny, a Grammy winner, is the first Hispanic actor ever who will play the protagonist in a Marvel film.

Marvel’s El Muerto is a wrestler who recieved his superpowers from ancestors via a mask which provides with supernatural abilities. In comic books, there is confrontation between El Muerto and Spider Man, Sony announced the “Yonaguni” singer’s casting as the lead at the CinemaCon event. Martinez Ocasio who is also a professional wrestler shared his excitement about the movie.

Bad Bunny said, “To bring El Muerto to life is just incredible..so exciting”, he also told that he has been wrestling since he was a kid and considering that the superhero he is going to play also wrestles, the record producer couldn’t be more happier. During the CinemaCon event, there were some other Sony-Marvel projects confirmed which include the sequel of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse called Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and is scheduled to hit the theatres in June next year.

Similarly, Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson has been confirmed in another Marvel-Sony superhero movie called “Madame Web” and Tom Hardy starring Venom franchise’s third instalment has also been confirmed, anticipated to release in 2024.
