Everything you need to know about the upcoming thriller drama Shining Girls

Shining Girls is an Apple TV+ Original thriller drama which is scheduled to release on April 29, 2022. The first two episodes will be released on April 29 and the remaining five episodes will air weekly on Fridays after that. Shining Girls is based on Lauren Beukes‘ best-selling novel of the same name from 2013. It follows newspaper archivist Kirby Mazrachi as she is forced to come to grips with a horrific assault in order to assist identify the culprit before he strikes again.

The series narrates story of Harper Curtis who discovers a key to a house that opens onto other times. But it comes with a price. He has to kill The Shining girls: young women who were brutally attacked to death. He chased them through their lives across different times until, in 1989, one of his victims, Kirby Mizrachi (Elizabeth Moss), survives and starts hunting him down. Kirby Mizrachi, a newspaper archivist learns that a recent murder is somehow linked to her assault. As soon as she learned this, she partners with Dan Velazquez (Wagner Moura), a Veteran reporter and determined to find the identity of his attacker. The story is set in Chicago.Shining Girls is a mystical and mind-bending drama that is propelled forward by Emmy Award winner Elisabeth Moss’s powerful and consistent performance as Kirby, as well as showrunner Silka Luisa’s outstanding adaptation from novel to film.

Apple TV+ has released the trailer of the series which portrays Kirby who is immersed in the memories of her assault. She was disturbed and finds herself struggling which leaves her in a constantly shifting reality. The trailer also gives us a look at how the writers of the series have employed to bring the time-traveling and reality-shifting notions of the original novel to the screen. We witness Kirby in several scenarios, from her first meetings with her future assailant as a toddler to adult Kirby in a range of clothing, haircuts, and circumstances – all with the unnerving cuts to Harper’s (Jamie Bell) creepy omnipresence in all of these scenes.
