There is more information released regarding the Alec Baldwin fatal shooting on the set of movie “Rust” in October last year. Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed on 25th April that it has released almost everything relating to the ongoing probe. There are pictures and footages taken from the crime scene in the wake of the accidental firing on October 21, 2021, which ended up in the passing of a member of film crew, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Santa Fe County Sheriff told the media, “Today the sheriff’s office is releasing all files associated with our ongoing investigation. The files are all related to the Rust movie set investigation and include lapel/dash camera footage from deputies and detective, incident reports, crime scene photos, examination reports, witness interviews, set video and staff photos collected throughout the course of this investigation.” There is a footage in the files of the case in which Alec Baldwin can be seen pulling out his gun and pointing it at the camera. The gun is the same F.lli Pietta 45 Long Colt Revolver which caused the death of Halyna Hutchins and crtically injured the director Joel Souza, as it accidentally discharged.
The video shows Baldwin sitting on a pew, wearing a stetson which is covering portion of his eyes, soon he looks up and draws out the weapon from the pocket of his jacket. In other footages, first responders such as cops, paramedics can be seen treating the victims which include Hutchins and Souza in a church set created at the Bonanza Creek Ranch before being transported to the hospital in ambulance. Alec Baldwin can also be seen asking for their condition while first responders working hard to save the life of the cinematographer who was also a mother of a boy. Another video shows “The Boss Baby” actor being asked by a law enforcement officer if he is okay, to which Alec replies, “No, I’m not, actually”. The inquiry stuff also has a video which is the inerview with Joel Souza in the hospital bed repeatedly asking for Hutchins’s state.
Sheriff Mendoza continued his statement, “Once these investigative components are provided to the sheriff’s office we will be able to complete the investigation to forward it to the Santa Fe District Attorney for review.” In the wake of Occupational Health and Safety Bureau of the New Mexico Environment Department’s fine of $135,000 on Rust’s producers, Alec Baldwin’s lawyer responded, telling, “We appreciate that the report exonerates Mr Baldwin by making clear that he believed the gun held only dummy rounds. Additionally, the report recognizes that Mr Baldwin’s authority on the production was limited to approving script changes and creative casting. Mr Baldwin had no authority over the matters that were the subject of the Bureau’s findings of violations.”
