The fourth season of Netflix’s romantic drama Virgin River is set to premiere in 2022. The release date for the fourth season, however, has yet to be announced.
New Updates for Virgin River Season 4: Season 3 of Virgin River will premiere on Netflix on July 9, 2021. Soon after, pre-production for Virgin River Season 4 began.
Last September, the show was renewed for Seasons 4 and 5. The season three finale left the audience with many unanswered questions about the fate of its characters. Season 4’s plot, according to creator Sue Tenney, will address these questions.
Alexandra Breckenridge, the show’s main character, previously revealed that she completed filming for Virgin River Season 4 in December 2021. Season 4 of Virgin River is expected to return with the majority of the original cast members, including Alexandra Breckenridge, Annette O’Toole, Martin Henderson, Lauren Hammersley, and Tim Matheson.
New Updates for Virgin River Season 4
Because she was unable to shoot during Season 3 due to COVID-19, actress Annette O’Toole is expected to have more screen time as Hope McCrea in the upcoming season of Virgin River. According to creator Sue Tenney’s updates, O’Toole’s Hope and Teryl Rothery’s Muriel may become friends in the fourth season. “It begins very antagonistic… “In the slow burn category, you’ll see moments coming up that will open up that relationship,” Tenney said to EW.
In one of her interviews, Tenney also hinted that the father of Mel’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) baby might be revealed in Season 4, which could influence the season’s plot. “I think the audience will be genuinely surprised at who’s behind it all if we get to Season 4,” she added, referring to the real person who shot Jack.
Sue Tenney also hinted at a major plot twist for Season 4, stating that Jack (Henderson) and Mel (Breckenridge) will marry in the upcoming season.
In one of her Instagram stories, actor Alexandra Breckenridge mentioned that the show is in post-production, implying that it will be available on Netflix soon. She wrote in her post that she finished the fourth season’s final ADR (Audio Digital Recording), which is one of the final stages of post-production.
Virgin River Season 4 has yet to be given an official release date, but it is expected to premiere in the second or third quarter of 2022.
