Leading streaming service giant Netflix has put Hollywood star Will Smith’s movie on hold. The move follows the recent infamous altercation at the Oscars this year when Will Smith went up to the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock as the latter mocked his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s medical condition, she is suffering from alopecia. Earlier, Netflix delayed the production of another movie of Will Smith called “Fast And Loose”.
The incident at the 94th Academy Awards dominated the headlines with the “The Pusuit Of Happyness” star issuing an apology to Chris Rock via social media and regretted his action. After widespread public outcry, Will Smith resigned from the Academy and subsequently got banned by the Board of Governors from attending the Oscars ceremonies in future for a decade.
Netflix confirms that it has deferred the sequel of Smith’s movie “Bright” which was released in 2017, similarly National Geographic has also postponed the making of the show based on nature called “Pole to Pole” and has Will Smith as the host, the series will be based on his quest to North and South poles. The shooting of Pole to Pole was suppose to start within weeks, however, show’s creators have time and again delayed th dates.
Youtuber and reality TV star JoJo Siwa has walked out of Will Smith-produced film called “Bounce” which is based on a book of the same name and is written by author Megan Shull. As per TMZ, production of several movies which are signed by Smith are postponed and Sony is also uncertain whether to proceed with the fourt instalment of the Bad Boys franchise. Smith is the protagonist in the Fast and Loose, the movie is written by Erich and Jon Hoeber and the story is about a leader of a gang who loses his memory and tries to get it back by reuniting with his associates.
Will is also starring in another film which will hit the theatres this year called “Emancipation”, it is action thriller.
