5 Netflix shows to watch in a single weekend

222

We’re getting closer to the weekend, which means you’re probably looking for something to watch on Netflix. There are so many good Netflix shows to choose from, but sometimes you just want to watch something quick and easy. Fortunately, our favourite streaming service has some shows that you can watch all in one weekend. To make things easier for you, we’ve compiled a list of five Netflix shows that you can easily get through and finish by the start of a new week.

It is not necessary for a show to have short seasons and/or short episodes in order to be a quick watch, though it does help. It all comes down to whether or not you find a show entertaining. Some shows may have three seasons with eight episodes each and runtimes of one hour each. However, the entire series can still be completed by Monday. If a show is worth binge-watching, you can accomplish the seemingly impossible.

There’s a little bit of everything on our list. However, I’d say that the majority of the shows are comedies. I mean, one of the easiest types of shows to binge is comedy series. You’ll be laughing your way through the episodes before you realize it, and you’ll be at the end before you know it.

I Am Not Okay with This

This has to be the easiest show on this list to binge. It’s a dark comedy series about a young teen named Syd who struggles with typical adolescent issues like friendship and first love while also dealing with newfound superpowers. The show was originally renewed for a second season, but due to the pandemic, it was cancelled. Even though I Am Not Okay with This was cancelled, I still recommend watching it. The show’s unique plot and fantastic performances by the cast are just two reasons why you should watch it. The first season consists of seven episodes, each of which is less than 30 minutes long.

Everything Sucks!

Everything Sucks! never got a chance to show the world what it could be because the streamer cancelled it shortly after its premiere. It’s a teen show that introduced many of us to the incredible Sydney Sweeney. The rest of the cast was also fantastic in their roles. It’s set in the 1990s and follows a group of high schoolers as they attempt to make a film together while dealing with typical adolescent issues like love, angst, and friendships. The first season consists of ten episodes that are less than 30 minutes long. You should save Everything Sucks! for the last show you watch because you’ll be sad when it’s over.

Russian Doll

Season 2 of Russian Doll premiered on April 20, and fans were eager to see what happened in the long-awaited second season. The story begins with a woman named Nadia Vulvokov (Natasha Lyonne) who wakes up on her 36th birthday in a mysterious time loop. Nadia and her friend Alan are dealing with time portals in the second season, which flashes forward four years. Of course, things are bound to go wrong again. The first season consists of eight 30-minute or less episodes. The second season consists of seven episodes, the longest of which is 33 minutes long. You’ll breeze through both seasons in no time.

Dead to Me

What are you waiting for if you haven’t seen Dead to Me yet? It’s a really funny show, and the main characters, Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, make a fantastic comedic duo. It tells the story of Jen, a recently widowed woman who goes on the hunt for the hit-and-run driver who killed her husband. Jen meets Judy and becomes friends with her while in therapy. But, unbeknownst to Jen, Judy is the murderer of her husband. Dead to Me fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the third and final season on Netflix. Fortunately, it has been confirmed that it will be released this year. Seasons 1 and 2 each have ten episodes. However, because the episodes are no longer than 34 minutes long, you should be able to binge-watch the show in a single weekend.

Heartstopper

Heartstopper is arguably one of the best teen shows currently available on Netflix. The first season of the show premiered on the streaming service on April 22, and viewers all over the world have only had positive things to say about it. The plot revolves around two adolescent boys (Joe Locke and Kit Connor) who meet at secondary school, become fast friends, and eventually fall in love. The first season consists of eight episodes ranging in length from 26 to 33 minutes. It’s a quick and enjoyable watch. We strongly advise you to watch Heartstopper whenever you have the opportunity!
