Hollywood star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be producing the movie adaptation of the video game “It Takes Two”, which will air on Amazon Prime Video. Dwayne Johnson’s company Seven Bucks Production is producing the game which was created by Hazelight Studios. In addition to The Rock, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia as well as the developers of the video game Josef Fares and Oskar Wolontis are the executive producers.
It Takes Two’s plot is that there are two characters named Cody and May whose minds have been transfered in dolls which are created by their daughter and therefore they have to find a way to restore it. “It Takes Two” became popular as it is a two player co-op game and single-player format do not exist. Last year it won the Game of the Year award at the Game Awards.
The game was made in March, 2021 and it gained about ten million players around the world. Now, in January, 2022, during an interview Dwayne Johnson said he was thrilled to be working to bring one of the most hit video games on the big screen, “I can’t tell you which game in particular we’re doing, but there will be an announcement this year. We’re going to bring one of the biggest, most badass games to the screen– one that I’ve played for years. I’m really excited to bring it to fans around the world. Of course we’re going to do right by our gamer friends — but really we’re just going to make a great movie.”
The Rock was last seen starring in and producing “Young Rock”, a sitcom which explores his personal life and rise to fame. The “Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle” actor and former WWE star’s upcoming movie is “Black Adam”. Black Adam is a superhero film created by DC Films and is scheduled to hit box office in October, 2022.
