Brie Larson turned to social media to mark her one-year anniversary of resuming her role as Captain Marvel. Nia DaCosta (Candyman) will direct the sequel, which will be based on a script by Megan McDonnell. WandaVision breakthrough actress Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Marvel Cinematic Universe newbie Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, who has her own upcoming Disney+ series in post-production, join Larson in the sequel.

The film’s antagonist will be played by English actress Zawe Ashton (Velvet Buzzsaw). Jude Law’s character as Yon-Rogg is also said to be returning. Park Seo-Joon, a well-known South Korean actor, has also been cast for an unnamed role.
