Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will once again be working together on a new film project after The Last Duel, The Hollywood Reporter found out that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck will be starring in a movie which will focus on the Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro who cracked the deal with Michael Jordan.
The sports marketing movie’s director will be Ben Affleck and his longtime friend Matt Damon will be appearing beside him, according to reports Matt Damon will play the role of Sonny Vaccaro and Ben Affleck will portray the co-founder of Nike company Phil Knight. The movie will be based on Nike’s attempts of reaching a historic deal with celebrity basketball player Michael Jorden during the 1980s. The deal between shoe company Nike and NBA legend Michael Jordan is regarded as a landmark one between a sports brand and a sportsperson.
Although, the character of Michael Jordan will not be featuring in the film because the plot’s primary concern will be Sonny Voccaro’s endavours and efforts in establishing the deal, he will talk and get along with those who were close with Jordan including his mother and coaches. Earlier, a documentary called “Sole Man” depicted Vaccaro’s tale.
It is being said that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are working on the script of the film, the best friends previously worked together on the screenplay of Good Will Hunting for which both won an Academy and Golden Globe awards. The Gone Girl and The Martian actors were last seen in “The Last Duel” which was directed by Ridley Scott and also starred Adam Driver and Jodie Comer. Damon and Affleck worked on its script as well.
