Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia on Netflix: What We Know So Far

Ginny & Georgia, Netflix’s popular coming-of-age comedy drama, has been renewed for a second season. With over 50 million households watching the first series in the first month after its release in February last year, it’s no surprise that Netflix decided to greenlight a sequel.
Season 1 focused on the nuanced and complicated mother-daughter relationship between 30-year-old Georgia (Brianne Howey) and 15-year-old Ginny (Antonia Gentry). Ginny is an awkward and angsty adolescent who frequently feels she doesn’t measure up to her irresistible and dynamic mother Georgia.

Georgia, who grew up on the move, decides to settle down in the fictional town of Wellsbury, New England, and provide a stable home for Ginny and her nine-year-old son Austin (Diesel La Torraca). Her past, however, jeopardizes the family’s new beginning.

Season 2 of Ginny & Georgia: What to Expect

The first series reached the top ten in 87 countries and number one in 46, including Australia, Brazil, Kenya, and the United States. Netflix announced the series’ return for a second season in April of last year.
“We are so grateful for the incredible response and love you all have shown Ginny and Georgia,” executive producer Debra J. Fisher and creator Sarah Lampert said.
We’re especially grateful to Brianne and Toni, who set the highest standard at every turn. We are very excited to return to Wellsbury for Season 2.”

The first series ended on several cliffhangers, and we can expect some questions to be answered. Did Ginny and Austin, for example, flee?
What will become of Georgia’s relationship with Mayor Paul Randolph? (Scott Porter). Is Georgia going to jail for murder?
The season finale also foreshadowed the return of Austin’s father, who will reportedly be played by Aaron Ashmore (Locke and Key). As a result, there are numerous story threads that will be picked up when the show returns.
