American actor Cress Williams who is best known for his role as Jefferson Pierce in the CW’s Arrowverse series Black Lightning is all set to return with another big role. He is also known for his roles in Prison Break and Close to Home. His most recent Roles include Mayor Lavon Hayes on The CW series Hart of Dixie. Williams has also appeared on many TV series including Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Beverly Hills, The West Wing, Close to Home, and Grey’s Anatomy.

Deadline reports that the Black Lightning veteran will be cast in the ensemble NBC ranch drama pilot Unbroken. Cress Williams and Shian Tomlinson have both been cast in the NBC drama. In addition to Williams, other cast members include Amanda Payton from the United States of America as well as Deleon de Metz from The Bold and the Beautiful. The multi-episode drama revolves around three ranch dynasties battling it out for survival as a group of young female bull riders shot for victory at the National Rodeo Championship. The actor will portray retired bull-riding champ Will Stanton, who works for the Holleran ranch owned by Bakula’s character Ash. He will serve as the best friend to de Metz’s Cole. In this role, he will be a soft-spoken father of two adult children that is hard to shake. Among those children is his daughter, Ngozi, “Gozi,” who is played by newcomer Shian Tomlinson. As her father was a champion bull rider, her character will strive to become one as well. Since Unbroken is still in the pilot stage, there’s no assurance that Cress Williams will be cast as Will Stanton. There is a good possibility that the pilot will be ordered for a full series, allowing fans to watch the actor again.
