Netflix’s most admired sci-fi drama series Stranger Things has been renewed for the fourth and final season. Season 4 of the anticipated drama is all set to premiere on Netflix on May 27, 2022. Directed by the Duffer Brothers, this season is divided into two volumes, with the first part releasing on May 27 followed by the second volume releasing on July 1, 2022. The show becomes a massive hit on the streaming service and has been streamed over half a billion times after the first four weeks of the release of Season 3. Fascinating viewers with a blend of lovable characters, amazing acting, and attractive cinematography, the show has attracted audiences from all over the world.

This season might be the scariest and darkest with elements of humor. Finn Wolfhard who is playing Mike Wheeler on the show revealed at a June 2021 set visit roundtable, “It gets funnier, gets scarier, gets more dramatic. And I think that just comes with all of us growing up and getting older. We’re not all going to be in like mop-top wigs, and we’re like, 40 years old, like screaming about like, demogorgons and stuff,” Polygon reported. “I think this is like a very good example of the Duffers really treating our characters like their ages,” Wolfhard said. He also mentioned “And I like to compare it to Harry Potter-like Harry Potter as those movies went on, the darker they went. And that’s kind of where we’re at now. It’s a perfect progression in my opinion.” According to the Collider, Wolfhard also said “I feel like if they could have gone darker the first season, they would’ve. The Duffers love dark. They love horror stuff. They love evil, dead stuff, and I think they had to prove themselves and have all audiences be able to watch it and not be too safe.”

The Duffer Brothers confirmed that there are still “many exciting stories left to tell about the universe of Stranger Things.” The possible reason for the end of the series with season 5 might be the age of the characters. All the characters have started their journey in the show as teenagers but they are growing faster in real life.

In Stranger Things Season 4, the majority of the cast will return including, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer.
