Choose or Die: Cast, Plot, and Everything Else We Know

Choose or Die Official Trailer Released

Are you ready to witness the truth being distorted by an ancient video game? Choose or Die on Netflix has everything you need to know. That ancient video game you’ve been aching to play might not be worth the effort (or risk) of retrieving it from storage. A computer game from the 1980s bends reality in Netflix’s Choose or Die, forcing the player to choose whether to risk someone else’s life or their own. In Toby Meakins’ feature picture directorial debut, two friends playing an ancient video game set in motion a chain of events that they can’t stop until they finish the game or die trying, all in the hopes of winning a monetary reward.

The trailer for Choose or Die, written and produced by Simon Allen (The Musketeers), was published on March 29, 2022. Those who want to see the movie won’t have to wait long to find out what happens when you play an ancient video game. While you wait for Choose or Die to arrive on Netflix, here’s everything you need to know.

According to the narrative synopsis, Kayla (Iola Evans), a broke college student, is playing an old computer game in the hopes of winning the game’s unclaimed prize money. Kayla begins playing the game, believing it will be simple, but she is unaware of the curse she has cast. Kayla has lost her job, she or someone she knows is about to be evicted from their house, and she doesn’t know where else to turn, according to the trailer.

When she discovers an outdated video game, CURS>R (pronounced Curser), with a $125,000 cash reward that has never been claimed, it appears to be the answer to her financial problems. However, the game appears to have unexpected and perhaps hazardous effects on reality, prompting Kayla to wonder if the money is worth the risk she’ll have to take to win it.Despite seeing the consequences of her actions, Kayla progresses through the game in the clip.

Cut shots show a person on a video detailing the game’s mechanics, telling the viewer that “the more the cursed suffers, the more the curser gains,” but it’s unclear whether he means the player or the game itself by “curser.” Is this person the game’s creator, a victim of its reality, or someone collecting data about it? Another person, an elderly man, is shown playing the game and appears to be having difficulty making decisions. Is he someone who tried to claim the reward before Kayla or someone who is attempting to do so alongside Kayla?

Kayla is played by Iola Evans, and Isaac, Kayla’s friend, is played by Asa Butterfield. Butterfield is well known for his roles in Sex Education and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, as well as Hugo and Ender’s Game. Evans is well-known for her roles in films such as The 100 and Carnival Row. Hal, played by Eddie Marsan (V for Vendetta, Vice), is the other person who tries to play CURS>R at one point, though it’s unclear how far he got.
