Johnny Depp And Amber Heard's Case In A Nutshell

In this article, there is everything about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The Hollywood stars began dating in the year 2012 meeting each other during the filming of their movie “The Rum Diary” and got married in 2015, February. After just one year and three months of their marriage, Amber Heard filed for divorce in May, 2016 and it was finalised in January, 2017.

The legal conflict between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was the result of an article written by Heard for the Washington Post in 2018 in which “And Soon The Darkness” star wrote, “I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse”. She opened up about an abusive marriage but didn’t named Depp. However, Johnny Depp’s lawyers felt that the article tarnished his image, telling, “The op-ed’s clear implication that Depp is a domestic abuser is categorically and demonstrably false.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean star has now filed a lawsuit against Amber Heard and she has filed a countersuit. In the last trial which took place in United Kingdom, he sued The Sun, a British tabloid newspaper, for defamation over a piece in which its employees called him a “wife beater”. His former spouse was a witness in that trial and he lost the case. Now, Depp and Heard’s trial is taking place in Virginia, America which also happens to be the home of Washington Post. His lawyers are optimistic.

The trial began on 12th April and is likely to last for more than a month. It is being broadcast live and details of it is already making headlines. It is being said that Elon Musk and James Franco will be witnesses in the trial.
