A Few Hours After His Death News, Gilbert Gottfrieds' Twitter Account Got Hacked

After the news of comedian Gilbert Gottfried‘s passing was announced via his Twitter account, the same account was hacked. Following the confirmed report of his demise, Gottfried’s Twitter account got hacked by someone or individuals who started posting inappropriate content. However, later his social media team managed to regain the account and retrieve the data.

Before the account was recovered and the obscene posts were deleted, the hackers edited the bio of Gottfried’s account in order to promote an Instagram account. According to The Daily Dot, the account written on the edited bio of Gottfired’s hacked account didn’t belong to the hackers and the person whose account was mentioned dismissed taking part in these cyber crime activities. The Daily Dot’s Mikael Thalen tweeted, “The IG user, who is blamed for the hack in Gottfried’s bio, told me he’s not responsible and blamed two hackers on Twitter.”

Fans are very angry with the hackers who tried to dig dirt on the Gottfried’s reputation after his passing, the news of his death went viral following actor and comedian Jason Alexander tweeting a tribute before the confirmation from his family was announced. Gilbert’s family issued a statement which reads, “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children.”

So far it has not been uncovered who was or were behind the cyber crime of illegally hacking Gilbert’s social media account and posting outrageous content.
