BTS, the South Korean juggernaut, won another award for Favorite Music Group at this year’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, which were held on April 9 in Santa Monica.
With their third win, BTS joins Black Eyed Peas, One Direction, and Fifth Harmony as the only acts to have won the ‘Favourite Music Group’ category three times.
Furthermore, BTS extends their Guinness World Record for “the most Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards won by a music group.” Last year’s ceremony saw BTS and Fifth Harmony compete for this honour, with both groups tying for the most wins with five. With their sixth win this year, BTS breaks the tie as well as their own record.
BTS accepted the award via pre-recorded speech while in Las Vegas for four nights of their sold-out ‘PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE – LAS VEGAS’ concert. “Thank you, KCA and ARMY, for the Favorite Music Group award,” RM said. Moreover, according to Soompi, the band was tied with Fifth Harmony for the most wins with five. They were able to break the tie this year and become the sole owners of the amazing accomplishment. While they were in attendance at the ceremony to accept their award, the band left a video message for the fans to express their appreciation.
