Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are going to get married, the couple who revived their romantic relationship last year is engaged. A rep for Jennifer Lopez confirmed to the PEOPLE magazine and Lopez herself announced the news following her picture clicked a few days ago in which she can be seen wearing an engagement ring. Lopez posted a video on Twitter with the caption “major announcement”, telling fans, “So I have a really exciting and special story to share…”, also adding a diamong ring emoji on her Twitter handle. Recently, Ben Affleck was seen cheering on JLO, along with with his son Samuel and her daughter, as she received the Icon Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Lopez spoke to PEOPLE and explained what it is that makes their relationship stand apart now than eighteen years ago, “We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things.” The Gone-Girl star has three children with former wife Jennifer Garner named Samuel, 10, Violet, 16 and Seraphina, 13 and the “Ain’t Your Mama” singer has twins who are fourteen years old named Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
Jennifer Lopez said during an interview, “It’s a beautiful outcome that this has happened in this way at this time in our lives where we can really appreciate and celebrate each other and respect each other. We always did, but we have even more of an appreciation because we know that life can take you in different directions. We have been in the game in the public eye long enough to know who we are as people and what really matters and what doesn’t matter. We have kids and we respect each other. We really live our lives in a way we can be proud of and our kids can be proud of you. We’re just operating from a place of love and respect for everyone in our lives and that is very important to us. We know what the truth is and we hold it sacred.”
Earlier, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez dated in July, 2002 and were engaged on November but postponed their wedding which was scheduled on September, 2003 and eventually broke off their engagement in January, 2004.
