EXO first appeared on the scene exactly a decade ago. Lay of EXO dedicated a special handwritten letter to all of his fans on this special day. He mentions parting ways with SM Entertainment in the letter.
“Ten years of growth,” Lay wrote in a post he shared on social media. Thank you very much. Thank you for your company and encouragement, EXO brothers. Thank you to my colleagues at SM for being there to witness every step of my development and success. “I’d like to thank all of my fans for their unwavering love and support.”

“It’s time to say goodbye as an SM employee,” he added. It’s also the start of my new life as a 30-year-old. But when my members need me, I’ll always be the Lay. Zhang Yixing, I’m a member of your family in China. I will always love you. Let’s love, EXO.” He wrote one in English and the other in Korean. “This decade is one of the greatest gifts I could’ve ever received,” he captioned it. See the post below:

While he has hinted at leaving SM Entertainment, he will remain a member of EXO. The K-pop band, which debuted ten years ago, has since grown to become one of the most popular and well-liked groups among fans. Lay has broadened his horizons by releasing music as a solo artist and acting in a number of shows and films. He is looking forward to the release of the films Unexpected Love and No More Bets. JIU, his new single, was also released today, April 8th.
