Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness tickets went on sale this week, setting a new record in a short period of time.

According to Fandango’s early monitoring, the Doctor Strange sequel sold more tickets in the first 24 hours of pre-sales than any other 2022 picture thus yet, including the newly released The Batman. The film’s first-day presales were the most for Fandango since Spider-Man: No Way Home tickets went on sale on November 29, 2021, according to the studio. Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis comments, “The amazing first day of presales for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness demonstrates fans are beyond anxious to experience all the thrills, chills, and big shocks Marvel Studios is known for delivering.”

The first 24 hours of pre-sales for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, described as the first Marvel Cinematic Universe horror picture, saw Cumberbatch reprise his role as Dr. Stephen Strange, according to Fandango’s early monitoring. Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, who is fresh off the critical success of WandaVision, will be joining the Sorcerer Supreme this time. WandaVision, Loki, and Spider-Man: No Way Home are all likely to have a role in the sequel including the first season of Loki. The MCU opens the Multiverse and pushes its bounds further than ever before in Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Travel into the unknown with Doctor Strange as he crosses the mind-bending and deadly other worlds of the Multiverse with the assistance of old and new mystical friends to fight a terrifying new opponent.
