No BTS Is Not Invited To The Inauguration Ceremony Of New President Of South Korea

It was being said that BTS has received an invitation to attend an event of the President-elect of South Korea but on April 6th BTS’ agency dismissed speculation that BTS were invited to perform in the inauguration ceremony of Korea’s new president Yoon Seok Yeol. However, a member of the transition committee stated that BTS’s attendance at the inaugration event is in talks.

BIGHIT MUSIC though have made their stance clear and clarified the K-pop band’s relation with the ceremony, adding, “Even the company got to know about it through articles. We haven’t received any official invitation yet.” BIGHIT MUSIC’s statement sent a relief to the ARMY who were disappointed and sad with BTS attending a political occasion particularly when the South Korea’s new president Yoon Seok Yeol has been a controversial figure due to his remarks and stance which have received backlash.

The transition committee of Yoon Seok Yeol paid a visit to the offices of HYBE which is the parent company of BIGHIT MUSIC, the agency managing BTS, to discuss the promotion of cultural domains. There was also hearsay that it was discussed that BTS’s members will be exempted from the mandatory military service in South Korea but their agency denied all such reports and said that Suga, RM, Jimin, V, Jingkook etc will fulfil their patriotic duty to serve their country.
