BIGBANG made their long-awaited return on April 5 at midnight. The music video for their new single, Still Life, featuring G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, and T.O.P., was released.
‘Still Life’ is BIGBANG’s first release in nearly four years. The slow and melancholy track features organic and warm sounds paired with lyrics that harken back to simpler times. The song depicts the passage of time through the seasons as the four members of BIGBANG reflect on their youth. G-Dragon and T.O.P also contributed to the song’s composition and lyric writing. The members sang about their lives’ “spring, summer, fall, and winter.”

As they sing the emotional song, each member represents a season in the music video.
BIGBANG’s former member Seungri aka Lee Seung-Hyun was allegedly involved in an illegal prostitution case over the last four years. The former member of BIGBANG was taken into custody last year, according to the South Korean Défense Ministry, following a ruling by an army court in Yongin.

After completing their mandatory military service, the remaining four members of one of the biggest K-pop bands have made their long-awaited return, and fans are ecstatic. One of the fans who shared their thoughts on BIGBANG’s latest music video, Still Life, pointed out that it contains a lot of imagery from some of the band’s most memorable moments. Following a screenshot of Taeyang standing in a field of yellow flowers from the music video, the fan shared another image of Taeyang among BIGBANG fans aka BIGBANG VIPs holding yellow flowers.

“Not to be dramatic, but it’s a masterpiece,” another Twitter user added. The MV’s colours are vibrant, but the mood is melancholy. It’s both sad and lovely. The structure isn’t typical of a k-pop song, but it works. BIGBANG just proved that not every song requires a chorus.”
On YouTube, the video for ‘Still Life’ has already received over 1.7 million likes. According to Soompi.com, it has also topped iTunes Top Songs charts in 33 countries. “#BIGBANG STILLLIFE” topped Twitter’s worldwide trends within an hour of its release, and the group’s comeback also topped Weibo’s Hot Search List and real-time charts on major music streaming sites in Korea, China, and Japan.
