This year’s Grammys was full of astonishing moments not just for the viewers but also the winners, Doja Cat won her first Grammy but her bagging an award is not what is making the headlines. The “Woman” singer and SZA received the award for Best Pop Duo or Group Performance for their hit song called “Kiss Me More”. As her name was announced as winner, Doja Cat was caught off-guard. Though, her partner SZA walked up to the stage with crutches with Lady Gaga helping her, she wore a gown and heels.
Whereas, Doja Cat could not been seen for a few minutes, she hastily reached the stage with SZA taunting, “Girl, you went to the bathroom for like five minutes, are you serious?” Doja Cat was shocked while climbing the stairs and uttered, “What? Listen, I have never taken such a fast piss in my whole life”, the audience burst into laughter. Before giving her acceptance speech, Doja Cat adjusted her dress and said, “Thank you to everybody, my family, my team, I wouldn’t be here without you and I wouldn’t be here without my fans. And you know what, SZA, you are everything to me. You are incredible. You are the epitome of talent, you’re a lyricist, you are everything.”
Doja Cat seemed overwhelmed understandably as she achieved a prize at the biggest music awards and told SZA, “And I need you, I need you to say something, something, please give them something.” SZA thanked her mother as well as God and concluded by stating, “Just thank all of y’all and I’m glad you made it back in time.”
Doja then got emotional and could not hold back her tears, blurting “Damn” and struggled for the right words, acknowledging, “I like to downplay s**t, but this is a big deal. Thank you everybody! Be safe.”
